Wrath of Helene - is a depiction of the utter destruction that tropical storm Helene brought to the mountain communities of western North Carolina on September 28, 2024. As an artist I felt compelled to try and capture some of the devastation as my hometown of Asheville was almost washed away by flood waters. Asheville's thriving Art District was under water and destroyed. There was crushing loss of life as well as loss of works of art that cannot be replaced even in a rebuilding effort. It was the kind of storm that is making even skeptics believe in "climate global warming". This piece is oil on canvas.
Measures 16” X 20” and is valued at $960.
